article A first wave will arrive at theatres across Australia by the end of the month, with Warner Bros. Pictures releasing the first-ever Australian superhero adventure, Splash Adventure, on July 1.
The film follows two boys, Ben and Nick, who have been sent to a remote island to find their father’s killer, as well as his daughter, who has mysteriously vanished.
The story follows Ben’s struggle to track down his missing daughter, as he sets out to unravel the mystery of her disappearance.
Splash Adventure is a joint production between Warner Bros and Lionsgate, and follows the adventures of Ben and Ben’s friends, the super-villains Mr Fantastic and the Fantastic Four.
Ben, the son of a wealthy American businessman, has been living a quiet life on the island for years, but now it’s time to get on with his life.
“We’re incredibly excited to be able to bring Splash Adventure to audiences across Australia,” said Warner Bros CEO Tom Rothman.
Rothman said the film was inspired by the success of the superhero TV series, including Supergirl, and the film’s plot follows Ben and his friends in a fictional world where super-powers have been created.
“We wanted to bring the stories and characters of the DC Universe to life in an exciting new way, and we’re thrilled to be bringing the Marvel Cinematic Universe to Australia,” Rothman said.
“The superhero genre is incredibly popular across the world, with audiences around the world tuning in to watch their favorite superheroes in action.”
For many families, the idea of seeing their child grow up in the superhero realm is an exciting prospect.
“The film is being produced by Lionsgate and will be directed by David Goyer, who previously wrote the Superman: The Animated Series episode “Lets Go!” as well a film about the original Fantastic Four, “Fantastic Four: The Quest.
“”The film takes the superhero formula and runs with it to create an exciting, new superhero adventure in Australia,” Lionsgate said in a statement.
The first wave is expected to have a theatrical release in Australia, with a nationwide rollout planned in 2019.
Spark Adventures is available for streaming on the Warner Bros website and on Netflix.
